The Story

Our fifth batch of Supérfluo is now available in all sizes.

Supérfluo is where the story of Inverso Profumi began. In movie terms, Supérfluo was our “meet-cute.” The post-pandemic world was just beginning to open when an American artist traveled to Sicily for work, only to become completely enchanted by a perfume and fall in love.

Supérfluo captures the essence of Sicily—bright, abundant, and effortlessly elegant. It bursts with candied Sicilian fruits, heavenly cassata, bold peony, and, of course, orange blossoms. Pink pepper sparkles through the top notes as if to remind you that you are, after all, in Sicily, where every moment holds the promise of new magic.

Perhaps that is why Oscar Wilde once said, “Sometimes, the unnecessary is necessary”—a reminder that beauty often lies in what we call superfluous.

The House

Inverso Profumi sees perfume as art, and the wearer as an active participant, a canvas on which the fragrance unfolds. The house is committed to art over trend, and many compositions are inspired by photography from the co-founder's own archive. Every batch is hand-mixed and hand-bottled, and each fragrance name is written onto its box by hand. The packaging is intentionally simple; the work is meant to live on skin.
