Terms of sale
Last updated May 13, 2026
I. Acceptance
By placing an order on drydownboutique.com or buying a workshop seat, you agree to these terms. If something here doesn't feel right, email us before you check out and we'll work it out.
These terms work alongside our privacy policy, shipping & returns, and the California Prop 65 notice.
II. Products and pricing
We describe each product as accurately as we can — the house, the perfumer, the notes, the year. Color and packaging on the site are representations; actual bottles are subject to the producer's current run. Prices are in U.S. dollars and can change without notice.
We do our best to keep inventory honest. Occasionally the shelf and the database disagree. If we can't fulfill an order, we'll cancel it and refund you in full.
III. Orders and acceptance
Your order is an offer to buy. We accept it when we charge your card and send a confirmation email. Until then we can decline or cancel any order — for example, if a product is out of stock, if a price is obviously wrong, or if the order looks fraudulent.
IV. Payment
Square handles payment. By submitting your order you authorize us (through Square) to charge your payment method for the order total, including shipping and any applicable sales tax. California sales tax is added at the rate for your shipping address.
V. Shipping, returns, and risk of loss
Shipping terms, delivery windows, and damaged-or-lost handling live on the shipping & returns page and are part of these terms. Title and risk of loss pass to you when the carrier delivers the package — with the damaged-in-transit exception described there.
All sales are final, with the damaged-in-transit and wrong-item exceptions on the shipping & returns page. Fragrance is a personal hygienic product; once a bottle has left the shop we can't resell it.
VI. Sample credits
Sample credits are issued at our discretion and tied to a specific email address. They're not redeemable for cash, can't be combined unless we say so, and expire on the date shown in the credit email. We may void credits obtained through error, fraud, or violation of these terms.
VII. Workshops and events
VIII. Acceptable use
Don't use the site to do something illegal, to scrape it in a way that hurts performance, to bypass rate limits or security controls, or to resell our products without our written agreement. We can suspend orders or accounts that violate this.
IX. Disclaimers
The site and the products on it are provided “as is.” To the fullest extent allowed by law, we disclaim the implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose. Manufacturer warranties, where they exist, run directly from the manufacturer to you.
Fragrance is personal. Test on skin before committing to a full bottle; we sell samples and have test bottles in the shop precisely for this. We don't make medical or therapeutic claims about any product.
X. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent allowed by law, our total liability for any claim arising out of an order is limited to the amount you paid for that order. We're not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages — lost time, lost wages, emotional distress — even if we've been told they were possible. Some states don't allow these limits, in which case they apply only to the extent allowed.
XI. Trademarks and brand use
The brand names, perfume names, and bottle photography you see belong to their respective owners. We sell those products as an authorized retailer and use their names descriptively to identify what we carry. Nothing on the site grants you a license to use those marks.
“The Drydown” and the boutique's visual identity are ours. Don't use them in a way that implies endorsement or affiliation without asking us first.
XII. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute arising from an order or from these terms will be brought in the state or federal courts located in San Diego County, California, and both you and we consent to that jurisdiction. Nothing here prevents either side from pursuing small-claims-court relief.
XIII. Changes
We may update these terms. The date at the top shows when we last did. Orders placed before a change are governed by the terms in effect when you ordered. Continued use of the site after a change is acceptance of the updated terms.
