Beach Bumming with The Drydown Boutique

by The Drydown Boutique

Hello, and welcome back to The Drydown Boutique Newsletter! With June sneaking up on us, we wanted to take the time to highlight some perfumes from one of our favorite categories - beach scents. We’ve also got some events coming up that we’re looking forward to. Keep reading to learn more!

The Drydown Boutique is located just a few blocks inland from South Carlsbad State Beach and as the weather warms up and days end arrives later and later, the ocean’s siren call grows louder. The need to feel the hot sand beneath our feet and take a dip in the turquoise waters becomes nearly dizzying. The reality is, we all have jobs and responsibilities, that might keep us inside more than we’d like. Sometimes, the only solution is bring the ocean to you. That’s why this month, we’re chatting about some of our favorite “Beach Bum” scents - the ones that get us through the day until we can grab our flip flops, towels, and ‘kinis, and book it to the sea!

Pacific Rock Moss by Goldfield & Banks

notes: Australian coastal moss, lemon, sage, geranium, cedarwood, white musk

perfumer: Francois Merle-Baudoin

Pacific Rock Moss is a nature-lover’s dream. This is a fragrance the captures the magic of basking in the summer sun and napping on warm sands. Upon first sniff, memories of fresh, sea-sprayed air come to mind, but as the drydown settles, the salty green brine of coastal moss make themselves known, and complete the oceanic image. The magic of Pacific Rock Moss is the way these elements blend together to create a truly enrapturing fragrance experience.

For the month of June, we will be running a Goldfield & Banks promotion at The Drydown Boutique. If you purchase a full bottle of perfume by Goldfield & Banks in store, we will include a G&F Coast to Coast discovery set free while supplies last! El Sireno by House of Bo

perfumer: Laurent Le Guernec

The Drydown Boutique team collectively cheered the day House of Bo finally arrived in store. In fact, House of Bo may have been one of the most requested perfume houses up to this point, and it’s clear why. Not only are the bottles functional works of art, the fragrance inside them lives up to the beauty of their vessels, and El Sireno is no exception. This is a perfume that evokes the feeling of dipping your toes in the wet sand right as you approach sea foam. The refreshing marine notes are accompanied by an enveloping warmth that is completely addictive. Though “sireno” means merman, this perfume can certainly be worn by anyone. El Sireno is the smell of summer in a bottle.
