The Story

Serene, Plush, Cocooning

A Lakeside Retreat

Created in collaboration with ScentBird, this medley of warm, cocooning notes is designed to activate neural pathways, helping you feel both relaxed and refreshed. Comforting cedarwood, Ambertonic, and Tonka Bean carry you to a serene lakeside retreat, where towering trees and soft clouds are reflected on the water’s surface.

A Mediterranean Escape

Soak in the Mediterranean sun with a vibrant blend of crisp, green Fig and Violet Leaf, accented by the bright sweetness of Blackcurrant and Mimosa. This lively opening gives way to the deep, dark intensity of Oud Wood, which intertwines with leathery Cypriol Heart, warm Tonka Bean, and woody Vetiver for a mesmerizing, layered complexity.

Serenity & Complexity

As the fragrance evolves, it strikes a perfect balance between tranquility and depth. The calming warmth of cedarwood and Tonka Bean pairs seamlessly with the complexity of Oud Wood and Vetiver, creating a scent that’s both comforting and captivating—a journey that lingers in the mind and soul.

The House

Scents of Wood is an American house founded by Fabrice Croisé, a French fragrance-industry veteran who wanted wood to be the subject of a perfume, not its shadow. The name borrows from shinrin-yoku, the Japanese practice of forest bathing. What sets the house apart is a technique few others attempt: each fragrance is composed in organic sugarcane alcohol that has been aged in a vintage wooden barrel — casks that once held bourbon, rye, cognac, calvados, or even maple syrup — so the alcohol carries a soft, faintly boozy warmth into the finished scent. The perfumes are made and aged in New York and finished in Utah, composed with a roster of accomplished perfumers; the house's Plum in Cognac took a Fragrance Foundation Award in 2021. Each bottle echoes the theme — a rounded vessel crowned with a hand-finished branch.
