The Story

Lichen-crusted stones, mineralic glacial pools, low-hanging clouds and high alpine scrubland coming alive in the spring. Inspired by the Holy Cross Wilderness region nestled within Colorado's Rocky Mountains, including Mystic Island Lake and the Mount of the Holy Cross.

The House

Pineward captures untamed forests, real and imagined. Perfumer Nicholas Nilsson loves pine trees and conifers but found their rawest aspects too often softened away in fine fragrance, so he set out to build the line he wanted to wear: pine and fir perfumes composed primarily of highly concentrated absolutes and blended in 200-proof grain alcohol. The work isn't a niche he has boxed himself into — it is the project.
