The Story

A rough-hewn cabin nestled deep within the woods, cedar logs ablaze in the hearth and a hot mug against the weather.

Spring 2025 revision: drier, more prominent cedar, (increased proportions of cedar Texas to cedars Virginia and Atlas), reduced smoke. Added a subtle amount of hops.
Parfum extrait compounded at 30%.

The House

Pineward captures untamed forests, real and imagined. Perfumer Nicholas Nilsson loves pine trees and conifers but found their rawest aspects too often softened away in fine fragrance, so he set out to build the line he wanted to wear: pine and fir perfumes composed primarily of highly concentrated absolutes and blended in 200-proof grain alcohol. The work isn't a niche he has boxed himself into — it is the project.
