The Story

Before cities, there were trees. Before temples, there were forests. Across East Asia, sacred landscapes marked places of return — shrine forests in Japan, mountain monasteries in China, paths where breaths slowed in nature’s accord.

In Japan, this immersion became known as 森林浴 (Shinrin‑yoku) — forest bathing. It is a practice of grounding. A return to living air.

Dawn Earth translates this philosophy from nature’s landscape into inner terrain. A green fragrance you don’t just walk through, but rest within. A homecoming in a bottle.

The House

Ode Ona is a women-led fragrance house founded by Ruth Chao von Gehren. The house composes each fragrance as a state of mind, translating Eastern rituals into scent: smoke for clarity, forest air for grounding, tea for appreciation, water for calm. The six compositions are made in France with Master Noses Emilie Coppermann and Suzy Le Helley. The formulas are vegan and free of colorants and phthalates, the boxes are recycled paper, and the house designs the six to be worn alone or layered.
