The Story

A balanced floral fragrance, both uplifting and warm, leaving a soft yet lingering trail.

Inspired by the Lily of the Valley flower, the perfumer sought to preserve its natural state. The dewy freshness of the blooms is enhanced with a flourish of Egyptian jasmine and Bulgarian rose. The sparkling white tea notes give a clean effect while the reassuring woody, musky dry-down leaves a soft warmth on skin.

Delicately adorned in soft white lace amidst a bloom of Lily of the Valley, the Summer Queen beckons Beltane, the welcoming of the new season and sun kissed days. Dancers weave around ribbon adorned maypoles to celebrate the lengthening of days and to ensure that the season’s bounty will be plentiful. Lily takes inspiration from the history and rich folklore of Lily of the Valley, cultivated for over 400 years and a symbol of rebirth, purity, love and happiness.

The House

Floris London is the oldest English perfumer still trading. Founded in 1730, the house began by selling perfumes alongside combs and shaving products, and by 1820 was royal-appointed comb-maker to King George IV. Florence Nightingale, Winston Churchill, and Marilyn Monroe were customers. Nine generations of the same family later, every fragrance is still made in Britain — and many are composed around a single central note: neroli, bergamot, oud, or rose.
