The Story

Salty · Mediterranean · Corsica

With your head in the sun and your feet in the water, greedily eating a fig on a Corsican beach

Inspired by the Corsican fig tree, this fragrance reveals a fruity, milky and iodized juice that will conquer the hearts of lovers of the island of beauty.

Fruity fig and salty marine accord. The notes that characterise figs are known as ‘lactonic’ in the jargon, to emphasise their unctuous, fruity character. What could be more contrasting than the iodised, mineral and fresh scent of the sea? A few aromatic herbs (eucalyptus, rosemary) and you’ve got an almost gourmet, highly recognisable signature.

Focus on the Corsican immortelle absolute

Corsican immortelle absolute is an herbaceous plant native to the Mediterranean region, found mainly in the wild maquis of Corsica, where it is harvested in its natural state.

Its essential oil boasts a bold and intense fragrance, valued for its distinctive olfactory profile: spicy, with hints of fenugreek, curry, and a touch of thyme, all wrapped in a subtle honeyed note.

Layering

Personalize your perfume with layering

To create a unique fragrance that matches your mood, or your outfit, you can combine Obvious fragrances with each other. For a successful signature, we recommend using two fragrances.

Here are our fragrance suggestions for associations with Une Figue:

Une Verveine + Une Figue: The fig gives the verbena a hold and gives the fragrance a summer, Mediterranean holiday feel.

Un Bois+ Une Figue: Wood brings masculinity to the fig while preserving its very sensual roundness.

The House

Obvious is the Paris house David Frossard launched in 2020, after years running exports for L'Artisan Parfumeur and founding the Liquides perfume bar. Its credo is in the name: beauty is obvious and needs no explanation. Frossard makes straightforward, eco-responsible fragrances — sustainably formulated, simply presented — as a quiet rebellion against superficiality and show. For him a perfume isn't an ostentatious disguise but a revealing totem: a way back to authenticity, and to nature.
