The Story

A salted plum with a pinch of umami.

Plum Cream reinterprets the Japanese plum, better known as umeboshi plum, eaten after a long maceration in salt. This saltiness reveals umami flavors, the famed fifth taste, which is captured in perfumery through the salted plum enhanced with rum, davana, and cistus, revealing a complex fruity leathery sensuality.

This Japanese delicacy, for the first time translated as a fragrance, is expressed on the skin with depth and creativity.

Symbol of longevity, prunes, or dried plums, have been enjoyed for their sweet and tangy flavor for centuries. The addition of salt enhances their natural sweetness and adds a savory dimension. 

The salted prune accord is a creation of the perfumer that features a unique blend of sweet, tangy, and savory notes that evoke the rich aroma of dried prunes with a hint of salt. It has a deep, fruity quality with a touch of umami, adding an intriguing and complex character to any fragrance composition.

The House

Obvious is the Paris house David Frossard launched in 2020, after years running exports for L'Artisan Parfumeur and founding the Liquides perfume bar. Its credo is in the name: beauty is obvious and needs no explanation.
