The Story

Matcha latte · White flowers · Captivating

A creamy nectar for everyday optimists.

Turning every day into a new adventure. Make the days meaningful instead of just counting them. But before diving into the hustle of daily life, an unchanging ritual takes center stage: a stop at the counter. The coffee machine roars, releasing a cloud of steam. This fleeting moment offers a treasured pause—a warm cup in hand, holding a velvety, green elixir.

Crafted around the matcha accord, this fragrance draws its inspiration from the matcha latte. Inspired by the ritual of savoring a matcha tea with milk, Meabh Mc Curtin, the perfumer behind this creation, captured its soft and creamy notes.

Focus on the matcha accord

The Matcha Accord is a perfumer’s creation, offering a green, herbaceous note (subtly bitter yet smooth) blended with earthy, umami nuances and a creamy softness. Finely ground green tea powder, matcha has been an integral part of Japanese culture for centuries. Traditionally used in the Japanese tea ceremony, it is revered for its health benefits and distinctive taste.

Though its origins trace back to China’s Tang Dynasty, it was in Japan that matcha became deeply woven into culture and rituals. Today, it also lends its refined touch to modern desserts and beverages, embodying both sophistication and well-being.

The House

Obvious is the Paris house David Frossard launched in 2020, after years running exports for L'Artisan Parfumeur and founding the Liquides perfume bar. Its credo is in the name: beauty is obvious and needs no explanation. Frossard makes straightforward, eco-responsible fragrances — sustainably formulated, simply presented — as a quiet rebellion against superficiality and show. For him a perfume isn't an ostentatious disguise but a revealing totem: a way back to authenticity, and to nature.
