The Story

An ethereal veil, a suspended embrace between dream and reality... "les bras de Morphée" is an enchanting fragrance driven by the nobility of orris. Its hypnotic, cloud-like trail softens with ambered touches where vanilla, hazelnut, and tonka bean melt into a comforting and elegant caress.

“Jean-David wanted a hug, a soft and comforting fragrance that envelops you. He spontaneously thought of iris and its powdery signature. In Greek mythology, Morpheus, the son of Sleep and Night, is the deity of dreams. Thus, I envisioned a dreamed, fantasized, idealized iris, with all its facets pushed to the extreme: the powdery, enveloping, and comforting facets are accentuated by violet and vanilla almondy notes of tonka bean and heliotrope; the naturally green, vegetal, and crisp facets are intensified by violet leaf and hazel, and the woody, rooty, and earthy facets are reinforced by cashmeran and touches of vetiver.” Suzy Le Helley

The House

Hellenist is named for the people of Hellenistic times — Greek in language, outlook, and way of life, but not always Greek by ancestry. The house is inspired by Greece and made in France, with every component drawn from the Mediterranean region. Founder and creative director Jean-David Jacoby works in slow, quiet luxury; the artwork on every bottle comes from neo-cubist Carlo Amen. If Greece is a temple, Hellenist is a temple of memories.
