The Story

Storyline

“Woodland's edge, morning's tender light. Between mist and dew, I see the velvet floor of the forest. In the distance, a babbling stream's sweet melody ascends or perhaps it is muffled laughter that joyously transcends.”

Perfumer's Words

"I wanted to translate the painting 'The Bath of Artemis', which Jean-David had told me about, into an olfactory experience. I worked on a fresh, dewy petally rose scent to evoke the wet skin of Artemis and her nymphs. A fig note and mossy woody nuances represent the forest and its velvet green carpet surrounding and protecting them from the first rays sunlight, hidden from view..." Suzy Le Helley

The House

Hellenist is named for the people of Hellenistic times — Greek in language, outlook, and way of life, but not always Greek by ancestry. The house is inspired by Greece and made in France, with every component drawn from the Mediterranean region. Founder and creative director Jean-David Jacoby works in slow, quiet luxury; the artwork on every bottle comes from neo-cubist Carlo Amen. If Greece is a temple, Hellenist is a temple of memories.
