The Story

Fresh-poured Dominican coffee, brown sugar, and rum-soaked vanilla... the comfort of home now comes as a perfume.

We created La Tacita de Café to smell like perfumer Michael Paul’s mother’s house: coffee on the stove, vanilla cake in the oven, brown sugar, and flowers. That memory earned it both the 2023 Art & Olfaction Aftel Award and ScentXplore’s 2024 Best Debut Fragrance Award. Spiced sweet orange greets you on the first spray, then melts into rich Dominican coffee, brown sugar, and mellow vanilla touched with rum. Chocolate, tonka bean, and amyris wood smooth the base into a warm gourmand dry down, more café con leche than a pungent black-coffee blast. To Michael, it is the scent of a mother’s love.

The House

Day Three was founded in 2022 by Michael and Vanessa Paul, and within months of releasing their first perfume — La Tacita de Café — won the Art and Olfaction Golden Pear Award. The house treats perfume as a vessel for precious moments and memory. It is a true family operation: their niece and sister work closely with the team, and Michael, in another life, was a stage magician.
