The Story

Step into an exquisite journey of the senses with Oud Noir, a fragrance that embodies the mystique and richness of its ingredients. This opulent scent opens with a vibrant burst of Black Currant Absolute and succulent Raspberry, enlivened by the zesty brightness of Bergamot. The initial notes create a captivating prelude, inviting you into a world of lush contrasts.

As the fragrance unfolds, a heart of Indonesian Patchouli intertwines with the warm spice of Pink Peppercorn. This bold foundation is beautifully complemented by the lush florals of Geranium Absolute and the intoxicating richness of both Moroccan and Bulgarian Rose Absolutes, creating a tapestry of scent that is both romantic and daring. The addition of Rose Oxide lends a delicate, airy nuance, balancing the deeper notes with an ethereal touch.

The base of Oud Noir is a celebration of earthy warmth and luxurious depth. Rich Prachin and Indian Oud with the allure of Rum CO2 and Gurjun Balsam that weaves through, enhancing the complexity with a boozy, resinous charm. Finally, the captivating infusion of House-Made Ambergris and musky Ambrocenide create a lingering, sensual finish that envelops you in an unforgettable aura.

The House

Michael Salazar makes Aromas de Salazar by hand from his San Diego studio, blending every batch himself so the color and the scent stay consistent bottle to bottle. The naturals do the coloring; the result is a line that feels personal rather than industrial. Salazar is also a familiar face at The Drydown — he teaches our Sip and Create workshops, sharing the craft with anyone curious about making perfume.
